Are you going to a 'Tea Party'? If so, I'll be very interested in hearing your reaction. Coming from the other side of the political spectrum, most of what I hear about the Tea Party Movement is that it is being driven by FreedomWorks, a conservative organization headed by Dick Armey, which was formed in 2004 by a merger of Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) and Empower America.
CSE, from what I've read in several places was formed by David Koch, who was the Libertarian Vice Presidential candidate in 1980. The Washington Post and other sources report that CSE received lots of funding from large corporations like Koch Industries, Philip Morris, US West, Exxon Corp. and Hertz Corp to pursue specific legislative agendas.
Just as you seem to worry about big government, I worry about big businesses in a similar way. I'm concerned about whether some people in big business are using tea partiers for their own interest.
So, please, go to a Tea Party. Talk to a lot of the people there, and report back.
Your blog was being advertised on my blog so I thought I would check you out.. enjoyed stopping by.. You might enjoy BASTILLE BEING STORMED article on my blog Thanks Joe Todd
I will be attending. I don’t care who originally came up with the idea of the tea parties, this is a grass roots movement. Over 500 of these events are scheduled for April 15th.
As the author of A Disgruntled Republican I often post items which I think may be of interest to the conservative, Republican, libertarian or the greater community. Posting of a press release or an announcement of an event does not necessarily indicate an endorsement. Rod
