I am conscientious about only posted accurate information. I usually verify and I am skeptical by nature. However, I recently posted a story ("ObamaCare Taxes Home Sales - Clobbers Middle-Class...") that reported that after the first of the year there would be a federal sales tax on home sales to fund Obamacare. I linked the post to "ObamaCare Flatlines: ObamaCare Taxes Home Sales - Clobbers Middle-Class Americans" at GOP.gov.
Shortly after posing "anonymous" posted this comment:
Please check your facts before you post something like this. There is a reason you hadn't learned of this before -- it is not true.Well, as Snopes says, this is "a complicated section of a complicated piece of legislation." The issue is more complicated than the simplified version of the story I posted and the story to which I linked. The new tax is not a sales tax but a tax on investment income that some tax payers will have to pay. I am removing my original post and stand corrected.
