Supporters of the state's leading pro-life organization will gather in
Nashville this Saturday, January 19th, for the annual Rally for Life.
The event takes on even greater significance this year considering the
Obama administration's high profile support for abortion rights and
Tuesday's 40th anniversary of the 1973 decisions by the U.S. Supreme
Court which legalized abortion for any reason through all nine months of
pregnancy.
Speakers at
Saturday's rally will include U.S. Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey
who serves as co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus,
Congresswoman Diane Black, and state Senator Mae Beavers, sponsor of the
admitting privileges bill. The rally begins at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on the
steps of the state Capitol.
