TN education board maintains support for Common Core

A recent wave of backlash against new academic standards for Tennessee’s
schoolchildren has state officials so concerned that they talked twice
this week about how best to show their support for the standards.
The State Board of Education discussed newly organizing criticism
against the Common Core State Standards at meetings on Thursday and
Friday before deciding to officially renew its support for the
standards. The board plans to vote on a resolution reaffirming its faith
in the standards at the next meeting, set for July 26.(link)
