23 First Tuesday members attend Dallas Americans for Properity event.

That is Tony Roberts third in from this end.

Wow, I hate I missed it. If my wife would not have been sick, I would have been with them. Twenty-three members of First Tuesday recently attended a conference in Dallas, Defending the American Dream Summit, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity and, if I understand it correctly, AFP footed the bill. Other than First Tuesday Tennesseans, about another 80 Tennesseans attended the event.   How I wish I could have been there! Speakers at the event included Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Dr. Ben Carson, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and our own Marsha Blackburn.

Our own Tim Skow, host of Nashville's First Tuesday was quoted in an Associated Press story posted in newspapers around the country. Here is an excerpt from the article titled, "In Texas, Cruz sounds like he's running in 2016."

Tim Skow, visiting from Nashville, Tennessee, worried that Cruz's starring role in the government shutdown could have weakened the Republican brand nationally.
"Senator Cruz was inspiration, but I thought Perry hit it out of the park," Skow said. "If he's as good in debates as he was on stage yesterday, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with." (link)
