Abortion rights advocates raise $1.5 million in quarter
Tennessee ranks 3rd in nation as a state where abortion are performed on women from out of state. We are a leading abortion destination. Amendment one would not ban abortion; Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade determined abortion is a right. Amendment one would allow reasonable regulations, such as waiting periods and licensing requirements as is permitted in other states. Amendment one restores the Tennessee Constitution to where it was prior to the 2000 when the Tennessee State Supreme Court determined the Tennessee Constitution gave a greater right to abortion than the Federal Constitution. Amendment one would make our State constitution neutral on the question of abortion.
