The Tennessean - Tennessee’s Republican senators split their votes early Friday on a
two-year budget agreement, a reflection of how the issue of government
spending levels has divided the GOP.
The deal, which prevents the
government from defaulting on its debts and allows for an $80 billion
spending increase over two years, passed the Senate 64-35 about 3 a.m.
Friday. (link)
