Light rail in LA hasn't reduced congestion as promised, a study finds

Los Angeles Times - Contrary to predictions used to promote the first phase of the Expo light rail line between downtown and Los Angeles' Westside, a new study has found that the $930-million project has done little to relieve traffic congestion in the area. (link)

My comment: Metro council members and those studying mass transit for Nashville would be wise to read this cautionary tale and take it to heart. Spending $930 million for 8.6 miles of rail is not a solution. Thankfully we dodged the Amp bullet. For alternative solutions to traffic congestion and transportation needs see this link and this link.
