When the Metro Council approved building the Nashville Sounds stadium, it was to cost $60 million dollars. It ended up $10 million over budget and costing an additional $21 million in ball park related expenses. The $60 million project ended up costing $91 million. One of the reasons for the cost overrun is due to a rush to get it finished which resulted in paying a lot of overtime. I suspect a lot of the ball park related cost were not included in the cost estimate in order to make the project more palatable to the public and the Council.
