The Tennessean - ... Pinkston said in his letter to board chairwoman Sharon Gentry that his resignation is effective April 12. That
sets in motion a process where Vice Mayor Jim Shulman would announce
the vacancy and ask the council for nominations at the next council
meeting on April 16.
Under that timeline, the council rules committee
would vet nominees before a full council vote on May 21.
Because filling school board seats happens infrequently, the predicted timeline is fluid.
A special election would take place in August. The next regular election for the District 7 board seat is in August 2020.(link)
