Nashville charter referendum takes aim at soccer stadium project.

 If the Court allows the tax payer protection act proposed charter amendment to go to a referendum, one can expect opponents to pull out all of the stops to defeat it. Everyone who pays attention knows that the proposal rolls back the 34% tax increase recently passed by the Council, but it does much more.  There are five provision in the proposal and while one rolls back the huge tax increase, the other four, one way or another, would impact the fairgrounds soccer deal.  This article by Nate Ray in Tennessee Lookout explains the five provisions in the proposed charter amendment and looks at the people organizing to defeat it should it go to a referendum.  See, Nashville charter referendum takes aim at soccer stadium project.
