President Reagan's Address to the Nation on Independence Day - 7/4/86

This is a simple and short but moving speech.  Ronald Reagan loved America and believed in our founding principles.  He believed we were the beacon of freedom to the world and he understood American Exceptionalism.  He revered our founders and the ideas they stood for and for which they risked their lives.  Unlike many contemporary political leaders who believe our nation is essentially evil and founded on racism, Reagan understood the meaning of America and what a break with the past and what an extraordinary event in world history was our founding.

God Bless America!  Happy Independence Day!
